John Burke
Former Celina resident John Dennis Burke, 57, St. Louis, Mo., died March 31, 2010.
He was born Oct. 10, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Bobby Donald and Ileene Beatrice Pendergraft Burke.
Surviving is a brother, Robert Daniel (Barbara) Burke, Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was a licensed psychologist and practiced in Ohio and Missouri. He also worked for the state of Missouri, the Missouri Department of Corrections and the St. Louis Developmental Disability Treatment Center. He was an adjunct professor of psychology at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and at Wright State University-Lake Campus in Celina. He was a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma with a master's in psychology. He also studied at St. Meinrad Benedictine Seminary in St. Meinrad, Ind. He was a member of The Order of Carmel Discalced Seculars.
Mass is 3 p.m. April 24 at the Christ Church Cathedral in St. Louis. There also will be a Mass at 9:30 a.m. May 1 at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina. Burial will follow Mass in Celina.
Calling is 8:30-9:30 a.m. May 1 at the church.
