CELINA - Blue-green algae blooms in numerous lakes across Ohio are keeping employees busy at the Celina Water Treatment Plant.
That's because until last week, the plant had the only lab in Ohio certified to process water samples for microcystin, a type of algae toxin that has been found in Grand Lake and others in the state. [More]

More than two dozen 4-H club members took turns showing four animals (beef, dairy, sheep and swine) Wednesday afternoon at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in the Showman of Showmen competition.

Plant owner ready to lease; commissioners say no plans submitted
CELINA - A Florida businessman looking to start a manure digester plant near Celina said he is waiting for Mercer County commissioners to lease him land to move forward.
There are 11 Ohio lakes tested regulary for the presence of blue-green algae toxins, including Grand Lake.
The state has three different advisory levels - no contact, toxin and bloom.
