About 350 students from 34 schools participated in the district soil judging contest Wednesday morning at Ambassador Park in Fort Recovery. Local schools taking part included Fort Recovery, St. Henry, Coldwater, Minster and New Bremen. Students judged soils for urban and rural uses, such as tree planting, growing crops or building a home with a basement. Results of the competition are being tabulated by the Ohio FFA and will be released some time next week.
