Voters OK income tax hike for police, fire protection
CELINA - City voters approved a half percent income tax increase on Tuesday that will assist the police and fire departments.
The levy - which will increase the income tax from 1 to 1.5 percent - passed 1,801 to 1,553, or 53.7 percent in favor.
Fort Recovery voters said no by a wide margin to a levy that would have built a $10.8 million high school with state funding assistance.
Elsewhere, area voters easily passed school levies at Parkway, Vantage Career Center and Marion Local.
