* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Donald Luthman

Donald C. Luthman, 73, Minster, died at 12:08 p.m. Dec. 13, 2010, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

He was born June 15, 1937, in Minster to William and Dorothy Bensman Luthman. On June 10, 1961, he married Janet Heitkamp, who survives.

Also surviving are four children, Janny (Howard) Wears, Lewis Center, Deborah Wright, Fort Loramie, Todd Luthman, Minster, and Jill (Richard) Hunt, Glenford; five siblings, Diane (Ralph) Penno, Punta Gorda, Fla., Earl (Nina) Luthman, Bellefontaine, Bill (Rose) Luthman, Minster, Judy (Jim) Olliges, Allyn, Wash., and John (Judy) Luthman, St. Marys; and six grandchildren.

He retired from Midmark Corporation in Versailles. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster and the Orphan Society of the church. He also was a veteran of the National Guard and a member of the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1391 in Minster and the Minster Jaycees.

Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-9:30 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
