CELINA - Of the nearly 1.3 million signatures acquired in Ohio to get a referendum on the November ballot, 1,817 were collected in Mercer County, almost 11 percent of the local voters registered during the 2010 gubernatorial election.
The four-year terms of every mayor in Mercer County will end this year and only a few candidates have filed to run in the general election in November.

Lake Erie jumped out to an 8-2 lead and Grand Lake's ninth-inning rally fell short as the Monarchs defeated the Mariners 8-6 in Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League action at Jim Hoess Field.
The Celina Dolphins hosted its annual Pentathalon meet last Saturday at Bryson Pool. The event allows swimmers to compete in all four strokes plus the Individual Medley.
