People using Grand Lake with more caution than before

GRAND LAKE - Boaters, skiers and anglers have come back to Grand Lake in recent weeks - a welcome site to area businesses.
While the fear of being on the water has subsided compared to last year when a thick, foul-smelling algae bloomed excessively, caution by many lake users remains active. [More]

CELINA - A strong effort by Minster fell short as the Wildcats bowed out of the 2011 ACME state baseball tournament, following a 3-2 loss to Vandalia in the elimination bracket final on Friday night at Montgomery Field.
Vandalia (19-11) will take on Bowling Green today at noon in the state ACME championship game. Should Bowling Green (17-7) lose the first game, a second winner-take-all game will be played shortly after the end of the first game. [More]

Council members debate addition to Club 211 property
CELINA - Some Celina City Council members think a new fenced-in area outside Club 211 looks nice but question if enough sidewalk remains open for passers-by.
ST. MARYS - The St. Marys school district has lost another administrator.
The resignation of Middle School principal Ken Neff was accepted by school board members Friday during a special session. Neff is the new high school principal at Greenville City Schools.
While government officials in Washington, D.C., continue talks about raising the national debt ceiling, Grand Lake area residents are left to sit back and wonder how the issue will come to conclusion.
A St. Marys woman was listed in serious condition Friday at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima following a two-car accident near Montezuma at 10:26 p.m. Thursday.
