COLDWATER - While the anticipated offensive shootout did not reach the level expected, the annual Kenton-Coldwater season-opening matchup was exciting nonetheless.
Maty Mauk punched in a touchdown run from two yards out with three minutes to go in the game to give Kenton a 24-17 win over Coldwater at Cavalier Stadium. [More]

ROCKFORD - It was a tale of two halves on Friday evening at Parkway High School as the home-standing Panthers built a 20-point lead in the first half and then had to withstand a furious comeback by the Crestview Knights to post a 26-21 win in the debut of new Parkway head coach Dan Cairns.
FORT SHAWNEE - The Marion Local Flyers had plenty of chances to win their seventh straight season opener, but too many miscues led to a 13-7 overtime loss to the Shawnee Indians.
MINSTER - The Minster Wildcats spent most of their opening game of the season looking like they were trying to keep the Fort Loramie Redskins in the game.
