Leon Hein
Leon J. Hein, 93, formerly of St. Sebastian, died at 1:15 p.m. Oct. 15, 2011, at The Gardens at Celina.
He was born March 25, 1918, in Chickasaw, to Henry and Clara Ronnebaum Hein. On Feb. 20, 1943, he married Rosa E. Liette, who died Dec. 10, 1992.
Surviving are five children, Diana (Leo) Homan, Maria Stein, and Tammy (Dean) Klosterman, Robert (Paula) Hein, Sandra (Jerry) Braun and Gale (Dennis) Dellinger, all of Celina; a brother, Fred "Fritz" (Clara Jean) Hein, Chickasaw; a sister, Marianne (Julius) Siefring, Burkettsville; five in-laws, Kate Dues, St. Henry, Margie Schmidt, Anna, Charlene Pearson, Fort Recovery, Mary Liette, New Weston, and Clarine Liette, St. Henry; 12 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Wilma Bergman and Leona Steinlage; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Montezuma, the Men's Sodality at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Coldwater and a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Chickasaw.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Montezuma church, the Rev. Rick Friebel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
