Janice Layman

Janice A. Desch Layman, 72, Coldwater, died at 10:35 a.m. Oct. 26, 2011, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.

She was born Nov. 2, 1938, in Coldwater, to Bartel and Anna Meldrum Desch. On Feb. 7, 1959, she married Paul H. Layman, who died Feb. 25, 1996.

Surviving are three sons, Lance (Sue) Layman, Loveland, Lane (Sally) Layman, Mt. Airy, Md., and Linc (Anna) Layman, Dallas; three brothers, David Desch and Tim Desch, both of San Francisco and Ted Desch, Atlantic City, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.

Deceased are two sisters, Sandra Bergman and Natalie Mestemaker; and two in-laws, Ken Mestemaker and Edith Desch.

A member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, she was a longtime member of AA.

Services are noon Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.

Calling is 9 a.m. until noon Saturday at the funeral home.
