No public discussion on contract action

COLDWATER - After no public discussion on the matter, school board members on Tuesday voted 4-1 to not renew the contract of high school principal Steve Keller.
Board members held an executive session, and once back in the public meeting, amended the agenda to allow the board to vote on Keller's contract and the contract for athletic director and dean of students Eric Goodwin. [More]

KETTERING - With the way St. Henry's boys' basketball team had been playing during the latter part of the season, it was going to take a strong defensive effort to stymie the Redskins.
Jackson Center was up to the task.
The Tigers, undefeated and the Division IV Associated Press state poll champ, used a 12-2 run in the third quarter to pull away as Jackson Center earned a 37-30 win over St. Henry in the Division IV regional semifinals at Trent Arena at Kettering Fairmont High School. [More]

ROCKFORD - A family of three escaped their home unharmed after a fire broke out about 8 a.m. today.
Homeowner Barry Peel Jr. said they were alerted by a smoke detector to the fire in an unused upstairs bedroom. His wife called 911, and the couple and their son got out.
