COLDWATER - Coldwater schools' food services director called new USDA food guidelines "the most sweeping" in her 14-year career.
Lynn Rinderle told school board members during a meeting Tuesday that students will be able to select from three to five different food components in the new "build a tray" cafeteria program, coined Offer vs. Serve. [More]

ROCKFORD - The football field soon will be getting new lights.
School board members on Tuesday hired Bender Electrical Company, St. Henry, for no more than $35,000 to replace two lights damaged by a June 29 storm and replace all underground wiring. The board also hired Dayton Power and Light for an estimated $20,000-$25,000 to upgrade the transformer and handle other electrical work to make all elements compatible. [More]

MINSTER - The Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce launched its first Cash Mob event Aug. 8 at two local businesses - Wagner's IGA and the Wooden Shoe Inn.
