The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Virginia Hegemier
Virginia R. Hegemier, 83, New Knoxville, died at 8:05 a.m. Aug. 23, 2012, at Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices in St. Marys.
She was born May 3, 1929, in St. Marys to William and Tessa Vogel Glass. On Nov. 2, 1947, she married David Hegemier, who died July 4, 2011.
Surviving are seven children, Donna Tinnerman, New Knoxville, Dan (Joann) Hegemier, St. Marys, Jesse (Marta) Hegemier, Wapakoneta, Tim (Anne) Hegemier, New Knoxville, Jeff (Ireta) Hegemier, Hudson, Tessa (Scott) Koppin, Anna, and Julie Hegemier, New Knoxville; three sisters, Dorothy Kattman, New Knoxville, Pauline Ogilvy, Norwalk, and Nellie (Kenny) Krauss, St. Marys; two brothers, Otto (Mary) Glass, Clearwater, Fla., and Roger Glass, St. Marys; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Also deceased are four sisters, Wilma Lynch, Mary Hardin, Juanita Garwick and Helen Bruns, and a son-in-law, Larry Tinnerman.
She was a 1947 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, a homemaker and assisted with the family farm. She served as a Sunday school teacher and den mother. She was a member of the Label Room Ladies at the ABC Center in New Bremen, a committee member of the ARC of Auglaize County and served on the housing committee to build a group home in Wapakoneta. She was a member of the Moonwalkers RV Club and the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville.
Funeral rites will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in New Knoxville.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Memorials may be given to Grand Lake Hospice, Auglaize Industries or the Radio Fund of the church.
