An Arctic front will sweep east across the region between 5 AM and 9 AM. A few hours of snow showers and west wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph will occur with the frontal passage. While any accumulations will generally be a half inch or less, some challenging travel conditions may develop given, rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities, strong wind and cold temperatures. These conditions will impact the morning commute. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

ST. MARYS - A leak in a private oil field east of the city Friday left an overwhelming odor in the area and kept emergency crews busy all weekend.
No serious illnesses were reported. However, St. Marys Police dispatchers fielded several calls Friday night and Saturday from residents suffering headaches from a noxious smell. [More]

ST. MARYS - One local soldier's hard work and dedication to his country has led to a high honor.
St. Marys native Joe Vires received the Bronze Star Medal on Dec. 6 in Afghanistan while finishing his third tour of duty.
The Bronze Star is the fourth highest award for bravery, heroism or meritorious service. The highest medals awarded are the Medal of Honor, the Distinguished Service Cross and the Silver Star. [More]

WAPAKONETA - Perennial Western Buckeye League power Shawnee swept the boys and girls swimming team titles at the Wapak-Celina Invitational held on Saturday at the Wapakoneta YMCA.
