Randy Waltmire retires after taking medical leave

COLDWATER - Interim police chief Jason Miller was named the new chief by village council members Monday night.
The unanimous council decision followed a 20-minute executive session.
Miller, who will receive a $44,000 annual salary effective immediately, became the interim chief Nov. 27 when police chief Randy Waltmire went on medical leave. It was initially thought the former chief's medical leave would be temporary; however, Waltmire has retired from the department. [More]

ROCKFORD - A five-point lead for Parkway's girls basketball team turned into an eight-point deficit in a matter of 3 1/2 minutes at the end of the first half as the Panthers lost 71-58 against Waynesfield-Goshen on Monday night at Panther Gymnasium.
The Tigers, the champions of the Northwest Central Conference, improves to 14-7 while the Panthers drop their 11th straight and fall to 3-18. [More]
