CELINA - A Mercer County grand jury on Thursday decided a Celina police officer was justified in the fatal shooting of an armed St. Marys man on April 10.
The case against Patrolman Andy Regedanz, 33, in the shooting death of Robert Hensley was presented to a panel of nine grand jurors by special prosecutor Andy Wilson of Clark County. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office did not handle the case due to a conflict of interest. [More]

LIMA - The difference in the outcome of Thursday's Division III sectional baseball final was the fine art of answering.
Lima Central Catholic answered when Coldwater got on the scoreboard first, and the Cavaliers could not answer back.
The Thunderbirds ended the Cavaliers' season for a second straight year by winning a sectional title with a 5-1 win at Shawnee High School. [More]

Lodging owners pay 3 percent on receipts
CELINA - Officials in Mercer and Auglaize counties on Thursday renewed a 3 percent lodging tax that supports tourism.
Commissioners in both counties penned resolutions levying the excise tax that currently is paid by a dozen area businesses offering lodging services.
CELINA - Developer Jerry Lacy's plans to construct three, single family homes on Irmscher Boulevard in Celina are temporarily delayed due to zoning issues.
CELINA - City administrators say the Celina Skatepark will reopen this afternoon after being temporarily closed for further inspection over safety concerns.
ROCKFORD - Eighty Parkway seniors will celebrate their commencement at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the high school gym.
Taylor Schaffner is class valedictorian and Marissa Hunter is the salutatorian. The students' grade point averages were not released by the school.

Celina will be well represented in the semifinals of the Division II boys tennis tournament after both doubles teams and a singles player made it out of the opening rounds held at the tennis courts on the campus of the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima.
Ron Niekamp, Fran Guilbault and Steve Trout have more than a century of basketball experience among the three of them, but ironically the trio has never worked a court at the same time.
