The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Helen Roop
Helen L. Roop, 83, Wapakoneta, died at 10:48 a.m. Sept. 10, 2013, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born in Wapakoneta to Don Wm. and Hazel L. Smith Benzing. On Aug. 26, 1949, she married T.J. Roop, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Peg Mitchell, Wapakoneta, Dennis (Theresa) Roop, Cridersville, and Barbara (James) Smith, Wapakoneta; a son-in-law, Russell Phillips, Celina; a daughter-in-law, Gabi Benzing, Wapakoneta; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, William (Greta) Benzing, Mansfield; and a sister, Mildred (Robert) Moell, Wake Forest, N.C.
Deceased are three children, Paul Benzing, Carolyn Phillips and Beverly Roop.
A homemaker, she retired in 1986 after 25 years of service at Huffy Bicycle Corp., Celina. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta, and a 1948 graduate of Blume High School. She and her husband enjoyed camping and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Friday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, the Rev. Becky Sunday officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Calling is 1-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Spina Bifida Assn. of Northwest Ohio, 2013 Walk & Roll-a-thon (Team Lauryn), Maumee, or Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus.
