Paul Saxman
Paul E. Saxman, 75, Redkey, Ind., died Sept. 9, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 14, 1937, in Wabash Township, Jay County, Ind., to William and Grace Wall Saxman. On Sept. 6, 1959, he married to Marlys Ross, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Bradley Saxman, Redkey, and Bill Saxman, Portland, Ind.; two brothers, Fred Saxman, Muncie, Ind., and Doug Saxman, Redkey; and four grandchildren.
He graduated from Bryant High School in 1956, served with the Air National Guard, attended Redkey United Methodist Church, served on the Jay County Council for eight years and was a graduate of Decatur Repert Auctioneering School. He was a member of the FOE and the Portland Moose Lodge, was honorary director of Indiana Ayrshire Breeders Association and was a member of the Central Indiana Boxer Association. He was a retail Wonder Bread salesman for 54 years and an auctioneer at Saxman's Auction Barn in Redkey since 1973.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, the Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Stateline Cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and prior to the services Friday.
