* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Periods of light snow can be expected tonight with some scattered snow showers then lingering into Monday morning. Snow totals of around an inch or less will be possible. Increasing winds later tonight and Monday morning will support blowing snow, primarily in rural areas.
Challenging travel conditions will be possible starting tonight and continuing through the day on Monday. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

A few hours of light snow are expected late this evening, mainly after 8 pm. While accumulations will be light, some challenging travel conditions may develop given the cold temperatures.
Additional snow may linger through Monday morning with accumulations remaining light. However, increasing winds and very cold temperatures will support blowing snow, primarily in rural areas.

Robert Scott
Robert G. Scott, 86, Portland, Ind., died Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at his residence.
He was born on July 8, 1927, in Bryant, Ind., to Forrest and Clara (Fritzinger) Scott. He was married Aug. 21, 1950, to Rosamond Jean Axe, who died April 24, 1998. He married Mary Ellen DuBois in 2001, and she passed away in 2011.
Surviving are one son; two daughters, Bevan (Rhonda) Bailey, Portland, and Kyle (Renae) Epler, Portland; one stepson, Mitch DuBois, Royerton; two stepdaughters, Ernie (Norma) Whitacre, Bryant, and Bill (Pam) Cochran, Hartford City, Ind.; six grandchildren; one brother and one sister.
He was a graduate of Bryant High School, Bryant, and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1952-1954. He was a farmer and member of American Legion Post 211, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Limberlost Square Dancers, Jay County Historical Society and Bryant Senior Citizens.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, the Rev. Darrell Borders presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 211.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jay County Band Boosters or Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana.
