Martha Alberta Menchhofer, 90, Portland, Ind., died July 11, 2014, at Albany Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
She was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Jay County, Ind., to Kenneth and Minnie Trafzer Somers. On Dec. 8, 1943, she married Lowell Menchhofer, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Brenda (Jady) Bradley, Elizabeth, W.Va., Carol (Larry) Orr, Madison, Ind., Marla (Jim) Laux, Bryant, Ind., and Anita (Don) Enyart, Portland, Ind.; two sisters, Esther Anderson and Mary Helen Derringer, both of Portland; a brother-in-law, Richard Nixon, Portland; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A grandson, B.J. Enyart, is deceased.
She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Portland.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Mark Strietelmeier officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.
