Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Norbert Schlater
Norbert V. Schlater, 86, Versailles, passed away at 5:48 a.m. Oct. 26, 2014, at Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles.
He was born Feb. 17, 1928, in Fort Loramie, to Fred and Bernadine Albers Schlater. On May 4, 1949, he married Vera Schulze, who is deceased.
Surviving are eight sons, Ronald (Diana) Schlater, St. Paris, Roger (Shirley) Schlater, Versailles, David (Mary Jo) Schlater, St. Henry, Stan (Rita) Schlater, Versailles, Mike (Jayne) Schlater, St. Marys, Mark (Shirley) Schlater, St. Paris, Denis (Gerri) Schlater, Coldwater, and Dale (Kathy) Schlater, Versailles; four daughters, Karen (Jeff) Keiser, Troy, Vicky (Stan) Nuding, Celina, Jane (James) Puckett, Urbana, and Lois (David) Bruns, Versailles; 38 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer (Carol) Schlater, Sidney; three sisters, Delores Peltier, Russia, Velma (Jiggs) Thobe, Maria Stein, and Marlene Crusey, Sidney; two sisters-in-law, Norma Schlater, Fort Loramie, and Martha (Cy) Thobe, Chickasaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Also deceased are a great-granddaughter, Taylor Griesdorn; four brothers, Herbert, Al, Vernon and Urban Schlater; a sister, Alma Schlater; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Crusey and Robert Peltier; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Schlater and Nettie Schlater.
He retired from Baumfolder as a machinist before working at the Stillwater Valley Golf Course in Versailles for 17 years. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Minster Eagles and New Bremen Senior Citizens. He enjoyed playing baseball in the Western Ohio League for many years, golfing and watching his grandchildren play their sporting events. He loved fishing and playing euchre and was an avid Reds fan.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, the Rev. Jim Simons officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martins Catholic Church Cemetery, Osgood.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Diamond Club or Versailles Emergency Medical Services.
