Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

James VanHoosear
James Herbert VanHoosear, 75, of Rockford, Ohio, formerly of Coldwater, Michigan, died at 11:06 a.m. at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio, on Friday, October 9, 2015.
He was born on June 14, 1940 in Coldwater, Michigan. He was the son of Marian and Lucene (Batterson) VanHoosear. He was first married to Joanne (Blue) Lyman who is the mother of his children, and she now resides in Santa Ana, California. He then married Bonna J. Gratz, and she preceded him in death.
Jim had resided in Rockford since 2011, coming from Coldwater, Michigan.
Surviving are one daughter and three sons: Janice (Barry) Peel, Jr., Rockford, Ohio; Jeffrey VanHoosear (Greg McCollum), Santa Ana, California; Jed VanHoosear, Hillsdale, Michigan; and Jayson (Erin) VanHoosear, Shelby Township, Michigan. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren: Barry (Julie) Peel III, Rockford, Ohio; Andrew (Amanda) Peel, Willshire, Ohio; Jade Fultz, Monroe, Georgia; Mya VanHoosear, Shelby Township, Michigan; Cooper VanHoosear, Shelby Township, Michigan; Lucas McCollum VanHoosear, Santa Ana, California; and Kate McCollum VanHoosear, also of Santa Ana, California. Three great grandchildren survive: Jaymin Peel, Emry Peel, and Harlynn Peel, all of Rockford. One brother, Elwin (Evelyn) VanHoosear of Quincy, Michigan, also survives.
Deceased is a sister, Velma Estlow and a brother-in-law, Marvin Estlow.
Private services will be held at a later date in Michigan.
