Carla Carpenter
Carla E. Carpenter, 66 of Celina, passed away at her residence, on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 7:30 a.m.
She was born November 5, 1949 in Celina to Carl and Arlene (Bader) Gerlach, both preceded her in death. Carla married Ronald E. Carpenter on June 9, 1973, they were together for 42 years and he survives at the residence in Celina.
Other survivors include three children, Rhonda (Odie) Carpenter, Moraine, OH, Diana (Justin) Santoianni, Kettering, OH, and Sherman Carpenter, Celina; two brothers, Jeff (Mary Ann) Gerlach, Troy, Stan (Nina) Gerlach, Miamisburg; four sisters, Andrea (Tom) Garman, Celina, Susie (Bo) Walter, Celina, Robin (Dave) Gerker, Ft. Jennings, and Denise (Steven) Houseberg, Frisco, TX; and four grandchildren.
Carla was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Steve Gerlach.
She was a 1969 graduate of Celina Senior High School. She retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in 2004 after 33 years of service.
Carla was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her favorite hobbies included painting, crafting and enjoying the outdoors. Carla was a very talented artist.
Visitation hours will be from 3-7 pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in the Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Thursday in the Cisco Funeral Home with Kathy Correll officiating; where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, OH.
