Frederick Rose
Frederick R. Rose, age 80, of St. Henry, Ohio, died on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at his home.
He was born October 31, 1935 in St. Henry, to the late Roman & Marie (Leistenschneider) Rose. He married Irene Beumer on August 22, 1959 and she survives in St. Henry.
He is survived by eight children: Lisa & Chuck VonHolle of Charlotte NC, Mike & Marie Rose of Versailles, Charlie Rose of St. Henry, Roger & Nancy Rose of St. Henry, Sharon & Chris Stammen of Acworth, GA, Vicki & Doug Schmitz of Ft. Recovery, Tony & Sandy Rose of Versailles, and Steve & Laura Rose of Russia; 26 grandchildren; six great grandchildren. Fred is also survived by a brother, Joe & Donna Rose of Coldwater, sisters: Berdella & Len Hemmelgarn of St. Henry, Regina Hemmelgarn of Russia, and Rita & John Schmitmeyer of Coldwater; and in-laws: Edna Rose of Celina, Juneta Rose of Dayton, Lucy Rose of Celina, Margie Rose of Coldwater, Jean Beumer of Winchester IN, Rosalia & Leroy Larger of Botkins, Sr. Marita Beumer C.PP.S of Dayton, Juanita Klosterman of Miamisburg, Ruth & Ralph Pleiman of Sidney, and Rita & Carl Pleiman of Ft. Recovery.
He is preceded in death by his in-laws: August & Theresia Beumer; a daughter in-law: Tina Rose; a grandchild and a great grandchild; siblings Eleanor & John Hake, Paul & Margaret Rose, Luke Rose, Herman Rose, Carl Rose, and Alfred Rose; and in-laws: Elmer Hemmelgarn, Arnold Beumer, Alvin & Linda Beumer, Leonard Klosterman, and Richard Beumer.
Fred was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a lifelong farmer, living his whole life on the same farm. He was also a member of the St. Henry Knights of Columbus, served in the U.S. Army Reserves, was a 4-H Advisor for 25 years, and had served on the St. Henry School Board and the Mercer Landmark Board.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 15, 2016 at St. Henry Catholic Church.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home St. Henry on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Care.
