Lucille M. "Lucy" Link, age 88, passed away at 4:10 P.M., Friday, January 13, 2017 at her residence in Celina, with family by her side.
She was born January 7, 1929 in St. Henry, to the late John & Margaret (Schuh) Jansen. Lucille and Robert U. Link were married on January 7, 1950.
Her Husband survives, along with 6 Children: David Link of Columbus, Ann (Bruce Luebke) Romer of Celina, Janet (Denny) Hoyng of Celina, Lora (Mike) Horan of DeLand, FL, Michael (Andrea) Link of St. Marys and Patrick (Susie) Link of Chillicothe, a Daughter-in-law: Alice Link of Montezuma, 12 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, Brothers & Sisters: John (Pat) Jansen, Paul Jansen and Margaret Stammen, and in-laws: Lucy Jansen, Mary Jo Jansen and Florence "Flo" Helpling.
Preceding her in death were a Son: Robert J. Link, Brothers & Sisters: Clarence "Jim" Jansen, William (Betty) Jansen, Henry Jansen, Robert (Beulah) Jansen, Dennis Jansen, Louis Jansen, Thomas Jansen, Isabelle (Paul) Heinke, Clara (Floyd) Lauber and Mary (Oscar) Hemmelgarn, in-laws: Walter Stammen and Judy Jansen, and Brothers & Sisters-in-law on her husband's side of the family: Louis (Eulalia) Link, Mary (Arthur) Huelsman, Mildred Link, Margie (Bob) Beach, Vincent Helpling and Donald (Charlotte) Link.
Through the years, Lucy worked at various companies, including The Buckeye, Mersman's, New Idea and the Huffy Corporation, from which she retired after 23 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Rosary Society.
Lucy had just celebrated her 88th birthday and 67th wedding anniversary with Bob on January 7, 2017. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had a kind, compassionate heart, loved unconditionally, and gave generously. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. She gave generously to her family and those less fortunate.
We were honored as a family to have Lucy in our lives. She will be remembered for her ready laughter and sense of humor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 19, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Ken Alt, C.PP.S., presiding. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Carthagena.
Family and friends may call at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina from 9:15-10:15 A.M. on Thursday, just prior to the Funeral Mass.
