Ruth Slusser
Ruth W. Slusser, age 96, of Celina, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Celina Manor.
Born on May 25, 1920 in Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Gideon P. & Sarah Wilhelm Steiner. Ruth married David A. Slusser on April 15, 1949, and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2006.
Surviving are three children: Dan (Lutrena) Slusser of Celina, Linda (Rick) Carter of Fort Myers, Florida and Jeff (Susie) Slusser of San Antonio, Texas, seven grandchildren: Christy Homan, Jen VanGundy, Jessica Carter, Michael Slusser, Makayla Slusser, Adriana Mino and Andrew Slusser, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Slusser, a grandson, Ryan Michael Carter, and six brothers & sisters: Verena Nichols, Gideon Steiner, Woodrow Steiner, Muriel Wiseley, Frank Steiner and Hilda Reichenbach.
Ruth graduated from high school in Mount Cory, Ohio. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed many types of handicrafts - sewing, cross stitch, embroidery, doll making, painting, and also liked gardening. Ruth had been a member of the local "Crafty Crew" group for several years. She was a longtime member of the former Neptune Church of God.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, February 8, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will be at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling Hours are 4:00-6:00 PM on Wednesday, at the Funeral Home.
