Paul Brown
Paul R. Brown, age 94 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Monday Jan. 1, 2018, he was a resident in the Gardens at Celina.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1923 in Celina, Ohio to the late Robert and Alcinda (Spohn) Brown. On June 19, 1948 he married Betty I. Fetters, who died April 5, 1994.
Also preceding him in death was his son-in-law Richard Westerheide and his sister & brother-in-law Helen & Raymond Butler.
Survivors include his two daughters Susan Westerheide and Beverly (George) Tester, both of Celina, three grandchildren Brian Westerheide, Cassie Martin, Jennifer Tester, three great grandchildren Kalib Hurley, Kiera Hurley and Rileigh Martin.
Paul graduated from Celina High School in 1941 and served his country in the United States Navy from 1943 until 1946, during World War II. Then he went to the Ohio State University School of Pharmacy. He owned and operated the Brown Drug Store in Celina as a pharmacist and retired in 1986.
He was a member of the Grand Lake United Methodist Church, the V.F.W Post #5713, American Legion Post #210, the Celina Masonic Lodge #241 F&AM and the Shriners Mounted Patrol. Paul was also a member of the Presidents Club at The Ohio State University and a member of the OSU Alumni. He loved horses, his OSU football and Music.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 at the Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina, with Rev. Diane Mendelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Swamp College Cemetery in Celina, with military honors.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 4, 2018 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 Friday morning at the Church. American Legion and V.F.W membership services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and Masonic Lodge services will be held at 8:00 p.m.
