Becky Cooper
"Becky" Cooper, currently a resident of Celina, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. She was 89 years young.
Celebration of life will be held at St Peter's Church, 303 N Franklin St, New Bremen. Sunday September 13, 2026 from 4-7 pm and Monday 14 September 9:30-11 am. Memorial Service starts at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon following.
Janet Rebecca Cooper was born on January 27, 1937 to Ora and Arnold Westerbeck in McCartyville, Ohio. She was initially educated in a one room school house before moving into town to New Bremen Schools. Graduated in 1955. Then married a local boy James "Jim" Cooper on July 6, 1957.
After high school Becky worked for several years at STAMCO. After having children, she went back to work at Auglaize County School for the Disabled. She was an aid and a bus driver. During the same period she also worked for the New Bremen School as a bus driver for the kindergarten noon Drop-off/Pick-up as well as the school band bus driver.
In 1982, Becky and Jim moved to Ponca City, OK. There she went to work for the Opportunity Center which is an organization for the education and training of the mentally handicapped. Becky retired in 2000. She was an active member of the Woodlands Christian Church of Ponca City, OK.
Becky moved back to New Bremen in 2016 to be closer to family and friends. Eventually to the same property as her daughter Lynda in Celina, OH. Becky was a founding member of the New Bremen Historical Association. Becky was known for her cooking and sour dough bread baking. At one time, providing the bread for the Wooden Shoe in Minister, OH.
Survived by: Sister - Ruth Warner, Reno, Nevada; Four Children - Laura Hobler, New Knoxville; Ellen Cooper-Nowlin and husband Ken Nowlin of Oklahoma City, OK; Eileen Imwalle and husband David of Tulsa, Ok; Lynda Cooper-Pleiman and husband Steve Pleiman, Celina, OH; Grand Children - Alex Hobler, Jon Hobler, Maggie Hobler, Erin Harvell husband Chris Harvell, Justin Gibson, Frankie Self husband Jake Self, Becca Imwalle Great Grand Children - Christian Lefevre, Sage Lefevre, Peyton Brunswick,Chloe Lasenna, Liam Lasenna Maddie Hobler, Rowen Self, Arlo Self.
Preceded in death: Mother and Father - Ora and Arnold Westerbeck; Husband - James Cooper, New Bremen, OH; Sisters - Evelyn Kittle, Celina, OH; Katherine Rohrbach, San Jose, CA; Son - Robert Cooper, Tulsa, OK.
