Nicholas Fanning, 37, of Saint Marys, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at his residence.

He was born July 19, 1989, in Saint Marys, the son of Anthony and Holli (Coil) Fanning.

He is survived by his parents: Anthony (Grace Chung) Fanning of Cincinnati; Holli (Lonnie) Enderud of Mendon; by his siblings: Bridget (Eric) Switzer of New Bremen; Allan Broyles of Saint Marys; Grant (Hayley Eversman) Broyles of Minster; Alexandra Fanning of Cincinnati. He is survived by his grandparents: Lana Sutter of Mendon; Ron and Jenine Fanning of Celina; by his step-brothers: Zach Enderud; Jordan (Cody) Love; Michael (Jen) Enderud.

He is also survived by his nieces, Lilleigh Sampson and Grace Broyles.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Albert Sutter and Don Coil; by his aunt, Donita Coil.

Nick was a 2009 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He was a professional tattoo artist and worked at New Skin Tattoo Shop in Lima. He also made commercial art, including the art for Touch of Europe Bakery in Lima and the new Saint Marys Roughrider design in the school gym, and also the history of Saint Marys mural near the post office.

He was Lutheran by faith, and enjoyed camping, music festivals, all kinds of music and art, and spending time with his many friends.

Funeral rites will be held 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Tim Benjamin, officiant.

Friends may call from 1-3 and 4-7 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to suicide prevention.
