* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...The following counties, in west central Ohio, Auglaize, Darke, Mercer and Shelby.
* WHEN...Until 700 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 356 PM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Fort Loramie, New Bremen, Minster, Newport, New Knoxville, Russia, Osgood, Willowdell, Chickasaw, Kettlersville, Yorkshire, Lake Loramie State Park, Egypt, Maria Stein, Mccartyville and Houston.

Mendon-area man linked to crimes at area businesses

A Mendon-area man has been identified as a suspect in a rash of break-ins at area businesses throughout Mercer County and other jurisdictions.
Douglas N. Fonner, 27, 5922 Tama Road, was taken into custody late last week on a contempt of court bench warrant for violating bond conditions in a prior breaking and entering case. [More]

ST. HENRY - Council members are seeking volunteer police officers to beef up the village's force to counter a recent increase in burglaries.
Council members on Monday held an executive session to discuss the possible hiring of paid personnel - an action that led them to table third reading of an ordinance setting 2012 appropriations. But instead of dipping into the budget, council decided to establish an auxiliary force of three, part-time volunteer police officers. [More]

CELINA - City council members on Monday night passed first reading of the 2012 budget of $39.13 million for all city funds.
The total budget, which includes the general fund, utilities, parks department and other funds, is a slight increase from the 2011 budget of $38.91 million.

Fort Recovery Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees
The Fort Recovery High School Athletic Hall of Fame will induct two new members on Jan. 28 between the junior varsity and varsity boys' basketball games against Fort Loramie at Fort Site Fieldhouse. The two new members will be the 26th and 27th inductees since the Hall was established in 2007.
