Light snow will overspread the area from the northwest this morning. An increased coverage of snow showers is expected to develop this afternoon into the evening hours. Slick spots may develop on roads tonight as temperatures drop and northwest winds gust up to 30 mph. Coverage of snow showers is expected to decrease overnight before ending Monday morning. Most the area will see an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Locally higher amounts are possible in areas where heavier snow bands develop this afternoon into early evening.
Roadways may become slick. If traveling, be alert, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Leander Fortkamp
Leander "Lee" H. Fortkamp Jr., 63, 77 S. Paris St., Minster, died at 2:30 p.m. April 30, 2007, at state Route 119 and St. John Road. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born Sept. 19, 1943, in Celina, to Leander H. and Rita C. Bernard Fortkamp Sr. On May 4, 1968, he married Marilyn Sommer, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Doug (Jessica), Troy; two daughters, Chris (Jay) Moeller, Troy, and Tricia (Keith) Pohl, Minster; two brothers, Walt (Thelma), St. Henry, and Ron (Treva), St. Rose; three sisters, Josie (Ed) Grieshop and Barb (Larry) Poppe, all of McCartyville, and Marcia (Ben) Tebbe, Maria Stein; a sister-in-law, Linda, New Bremen; and seven grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Ralph, and an infant sister, Mary.
He retired from Duco Tool & Die, Minster, was a machinist at the former New Idea, Coldwater, and worked at Stolle Precision Tool, Sidney. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran and member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, American Legion, athletic booster club, village board of public affairs, village zoning board, cemetery board and Oktoberfest committee, all of Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Rick Neiberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery where military rites will be performed.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-9:30 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
