Light snow will overspread the area from the northwest this morning. An increased coverage of snow showers is expected to develop this afternoon into the evening hours. Slick spots may develop on roads tonight as temperatures drop and northwest winds gust up to 30 mph. Coverage of snow showers is expected to decrease overnight before ending Monday morning. Most the area will see an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Locally higher amounts are possible in areas where heavier snow bands develop this afternoon into early evening.
Roadways may become slick. If traveling, be alert, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Walter Vondenhuevel
Walter F. Vondenhuevel, 75, 222 S. Main St., New Bremen, died at 8:39 p.m. Feb. 1, 2008, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born June 24, 1932, in Minster, to George Sr. and Anna Magoto Vondenhuevel. On June 2, 1956, he married Joanne Overman, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Gary (Kris), St. Marys; a daughter Karen (Bob) Drees, Botkins; a brother, George Jr. (Sandy), New Bremen; two sisters, Betty (Bob), Wapakoneta, and Eileen (Larry) Byrley, Celina; two sisters-in-law, Rita, Wapakoneta, and Joan, Minster; and two grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Lester and Vernon.
He retired in 1994 from Midmark Corporation, Versailles, and was a bartender and member of the American Legion, New Bremen. He also was a member and usher of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Minster, and the Home Benefit Association, New Bremen. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean conflict.
Private services will be held at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen.
Contributions can be made to the James Cancer Research Hospital, Columbus, or the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Foundation, St. Marys.
