William Hoenie
William J. Hoenie, 92, 5659 Miller Road, Celina, died at 1:30 p.m. April 6, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 19, 1915, in Mercer County, to Carl J. and Freda Clott Hoenie. On Feb. 15, 1974, he married M. Eleanor Sandkuhl, who survives.
Other survivors are three sons, Marvin R., Celina, and Donald Eugene (Raydell), Clarksville, Tenn.; three stepsons, James E. Johns, St. Marys, Larry W. (Patty) Johns, Moulton, and Roger D. (Terry) Johns, Auburn Hills, Mich.; a sister, Margaret Yahl, St. Marys; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 14 stepgrandchildren and 30 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Robert; a sister, Bernice Vermillion; and two stepgrandchildren.
He was a retired farmer and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina, and Hopewell Grange, He served as a Hopewell Township trustee and a Mercer County Fair Board member for many years.
Services were 10:30 a.m. today at the church, the Rev. Paul Baglien officiating. Burial is at Buck Cemetery, Celina.
Calling was 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and one hour prior to service today at the church.
Contributions can be made to the church or Grand Lake Hospice.
