Ruth Powell
Ruth A. Powell, 93, 1128 Princeton Ave., Celina, died at 9:25 p.m. Aug. 22, 2009, at The Gardens of Celina.
She was born March 9, 1916, in Celina to Ralph and Martha Cordier Monroe. On April 2, 1938, she married Richard D. Powell, who died Dec. 22, 1991.
Surviving are a son, Dick (Darlene) Powell, Celina; a daughter, Janet (Dennis) Sakada, Bluffton, S.C.; four sisters, Luetta Hill, Marjorie Brehm, Lela Snider, all of Celina, and Luella Amstutz, Berne, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Irvin and Clifford; and three sisters, Bernice Monroe, Beulah Fenning and Opal Robbins.
She was a 1936 graduate of Celina High School.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Rick Brosher officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday the funeral home.
