Louis Betz
Louis L. Betz, 76, 408 S. Wayne St., Portland, Ind., died in the emergency room at Jay County Hospital Aug. 24, 2009.
He was born in Portland Aug. 28, 1932, to Arthur "Curley" and Elva Guiff Betz. On April 3, 1959, he married Linda L. Myers, who died Nov. 19, 2007.
Surviving are two sons, Richard (Teresa), Decatur, Ind., and Steve (Tracy) Betz, Portland; a daughter, Marcie (Ron) Densmore, Bluffton; a brother, Leonard Betz, Portland; six granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
He retired from the former New Idea, Coldwater, after 47 years. He was a member of Portland Moose Lodge, Dunkirk Elks Lodge, Portland Eagles Lodge and Sons of the American Legion.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, the Rev. Hugh Kelly officiating. Burial is at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to the Portland Moose Scholarship Fund.
