COLDWATER - The championship match of the 2010 Lefeld Implement Classic was a down-to-the-wire dandy, and the buildup to the final game was just as exciting.
Derek Sapp earned his fifth Professional Bowlers Association regional championship, beating Parker Bohn III, 206-203, to earn the $4,500 first-place check and the trophy in the third annual event at Pla-Mor Lanes in Coldwater. [More]

CELINA - Bib overalls, denim skirts, twine belts and straw hats were the choice of youngsters competing in the seventh annual Little Miss and Mr. competition at the Mercer County Fair Saturday afternoon.
July was hot, sweltering and very uncomfortable, but not the steamiest summer month on record.
"It's close. It's almost a degree short (based on daily averages) of July '88," local weather forecaster Dennis Howick said.
ST. MARYS - It was a hot one in the old town over the weekend and 2010 SummerFest crowds were thin. At least one event was canceled due to algae concerns in the St. Marys River and there was a flap over a local vendor setting up shop.
