CELINA - With the general election just a few weeks off, county officials are busy at the courthouse assisting early voters and training poll workers for a new pilot study.
Election board directors Laura Bruns and Deb Sneddon led roughly three-fourths of this season's 144 poll workers through procedural instruction this week. [More]
Marion Local blows out Coldwater to grab first place in the MAC

MARIA STEIN - What was supposed to be a defensive battle between two of the top teams in the state turned out to be an offensive rout by the Marion Local Flyers.
Marion Local, the top-ranked team in Division VII, scored 34 straight points on Coldwater, the second-ranked team in Division V, with some big plays and now stands high on top of the mountain in the Midwest Athletic Conference after a 47-14 triumph at Booster Stadium in Maria Stein. [More]

Celina, Parkway and St. Marys schools were recognized this week by the state for high academic achievement.
St. Marys Middle School, Celina Middle and Primary schools and Parkway Elementary were identified as Schools of Promise among 141 others in Ohio.
Charge involving nude photographs dropped in Auglaize
CELINA - A 43-year-old Montezuma man on Friday pleaded not guilty in court to 10 counts of illegally possessing firearms.

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP - After not scoring over 50 points in a football game for over 15 years, Celina has now done it in back-to-back weeks.

Eli Wolf breaks Minster receiving record
FORT RECOVERY - Minster turned in a solid road performance and defeated the Fort Recovery Indians 35-13 at Barrenbrugge Park.
The Wildcats scored first and slowly built their lead throughout the contest, outgaining the Indians 404-128 in yardage for the game.
