With a couple of teams advancing to the state basketball tournament and the emergence of its first era of big-time scorers like Kerry Myers, Tom Bryan, Ron Niekamp, Ken Heiby, Bob Howell and Jon Shindollar, the 1960s were very kind to Mercer County boys' basketball.
The Parkway High School Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducting two new members on Saturday, Feb. 8, when the Panthers host Lima Perry. A ceremony between the jayvee and varsity basketball games will honor Shawnette (Byer) Metzger and Neil Schaffner.
