James Fiely
Mercer County native James Stanley Fiely, 36, of West Salem, died May 19, 2008, at the Travel Centers of America Truck Stop, Carlisle, Pa. Death was due to an apparent suicide.
He was born Jan. 13, 1972, in Mercer County, to Arthur and Marilyn Grieshop Fiely. His father is deceased and his mother survives in St. Henry. On Nov. 9, 2002, he married Michelle Miner, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, David, at home; four daughters, Cassandra, at home, and Miranda, Hannah and Destiney of Mercer County; a brother, Jeff, of Mercer County; and two sisters, Lisa Ungruhn and Lynda Fiely, of Mercer County.
He was a truck driver. He also was a member of the Owner/Operator Independent Driver's Association, the Knights of Columbus and the Mercer County Disaster Services Association and was a founding member of the Mercer County Emergency Response Volunteers (MCERV).
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Fickes Funeral Home, Jeromesville, the Rev. Paul Atkinson officiating. Burial is at Reedsburg Cemetery, Wayne County.
Calling is after 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
