MINSTER - Community service is a way of life for Rick Schwartz - from being a village councilor to umpiring sporting events for local youths to singing in the church choir.
A Fort Recovery man escaped life-threatening injuries when the tractor he was operating slid on ice, traveled down an embankment and overturned on its top. The mishap occurred at 11:06 a.m. Saturday on Park Road near Fort Recovery.
A 22-year-old Celina man was shot accidentally in his left leg while cleaning his brother's gun cabinet in Fort Loramie on Feb. 14, according to a report from the Shelby County Sheriff's office.
MARIA STEIN - Luke Bertke is going from the farm fields of Mercer County to the Ivy League.
The Marion Local product will attend Princeton University next season and will play football for the Tigers.
