Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Head elf's house in Celina gets remodel; mode of transportation into town has changed throughout years

Santa Claus has always made a stop at his house in Celina the weekend after Thanksgiving. It's how he has arrived in town and his digs that have changed during the past 60-plus years.
Over the years Santa has left the North Pole to arrive in Celina by way of horse-drawn sleigh, a Cadillac convertible, a boat, by horseback and by helicopter. One year the fire department even lifted old Santa from the rooftop of a downtown building. [More]

A 29-year-old Wapakoneta man died following a traffic accident Wednesday night that troopers believe was alcohol related.
Joseph "Joe" C. Sparks, the son of Gary P. and Wanda J. Carpenter Sparks of New Bremen, was pronounced dead at 11:48 p.m. at Lima Memorial Hospital, about one hour after the accident occurred at the intersection of state Route 67 and Townline-Lima Road. [More]
