Rosemary Shawhan
Rosemary Shawhan, 67, St. Marys, died at 1:24 a.m. May 29, 2010, in the emergency room at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born Feb. 11, 1943, in Noble Township in Auglaize County to Adolph and Theresa Wuebker Severt. On Nov. 27, 1970, she married Fred Shawhan Sr., who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael (Tina) Shawhan, Delphos; a step daughter, Karen Shawhan, Butler, Pa.; a step son, Fred Shawhan Jr., Nelsonville; three sisters, Madella Schnippel, Wapakoneta, Sarah Dotson, Lima, and Loretta (Robert) Westerheide, Mount Vernon; a brother, David (Elm) Severt, Wapakoneta; and eight grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant daughter, Barbara Joann Shawhan; a brother, Roman Severt; and a sister, Edna Grewe.
She was a 1961 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys. She was a homemaker and manager of the former Joann Fabrics Store in St. Mary. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys and its altar society. She also used her skills as a seamstress to help the people of Haiti.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Church, the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10:15 a.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home and Cremation Service in St. Marys.
Memorials can be made to the Holy Rosary School.
