MARIA STEIN - Former Parkway Local School Superintendent Doug Karst was hired Monday night as interim superintendent as the Marion Local Schools board of education continues its search for a new full-time administrator.

Mercer County Commissioners recently approved compensation for tuberculosis treatment for an area resident.
The action is an obligation of the board of commissioners upon request, according to the Ohio Revised Code (ORC). Anyone without insurance coverage can request the funds for TB treatment.
