Public program slated at Celina High School

CELINA - Keeping children from abusing prescription medications may help fight the local war on heroin, according to Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey.
Grey hopes to educate the public on the problem during a "Parents360 RX" public program at 7 p.m. May 19 in the Celina High School auditorium. The featured speaker is Tracy Plouch, director of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. [More]
Western Buckeye League Boys Tennis Tournament

LIMA - The last time Celina was crowned WBL boys tennis champs, the current squad were not born yet.
Coach Toma Hainline remembers, though, as she guided the 1995 team to the overall title.
The current batch of Celina tennis players brought home another title, sharing the overall championship with Shawnee as the league tournament concluded at the University of Northwestern Ohio on Saturday. [More]

ST. MARYS - A Celina man on Friday pleaded not guilty to his part in the slaying of a local farmer more than 30 years ago.
