Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Helen DeMange
Helen M. DeMange, 88, of Versailles, died at 7:42 p.m. April 23, 2010, at her home.
She was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Russia, to Peter and Elizabeth Paulus. On Jan. 11, 1941, she married Paul R. DeMange, who died Sept. 13, 1982.
Surviving are 14 children, Carl (Diana) DeMange, Joan DeMange, Marilyn (Jerry) Bensman, Elaine (Ron) Marshall and Ken (Angie) DeMange, all of Versailles, Betty (Bob) Poeppelman and Rick (Marg) DeMange, all of Osgood, Marjorie (Paul) Bruey, Ernie (Diane) DeMange and Leroy (Ann) DeMange, all of Yorkshire, Nancy (Harold) Niekamp, Minster, Ed (Sue) DeMange, Rossburg, Theresa (Bob) Hemmelgarn, North Star, and Roger (Kris) DeMange, St. Henry; a sister, Sarah Magoto, Russia; a sister-in-law, Bernice Paulus, Russia; 45 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and a stepgreat-grandchild.
Deceased are four sisters, Catherine Magoto, Christina Carity and Laura and Martha DeMange; four brothers, Stephen, Lawrence, Adrian and Tom DeMange; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She attended St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, and was a member of the St. Barbara Ladies Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial is at St. Martin's Cemetery, Osgood.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
