Martha Knapschaefer
Mary Martha Knapschaefer, 82, 1009 W. Vine St., Coldwater, died at 7:01 a.m. April 24, 2010, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Versailles, to William Jennings and Marcella Francis Short. On Oct. 2, 1948, she married Hugo Leo Knapschaefer, who died Oct. 22, 2003.
Surviving are six children, Michael (Rita) Knapschaefer, Jack (Bonnie) Knapschaefer, Joe (Linda) Knapschaefer, Marianne (Thomas) Kincaid, and Denis (Angie) Knapschaefer, all of Coldwater, and Allen (Darcie) Knapschaefer, Kingswood, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Alberta Lorraine Short, Newark, and Mary Ann Short, of West Virginia; 28 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, William Short Jr. and John Short.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Barry Stechschulte officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
