Claire Neill
Claire Ellen Neill, 79, of Celina, died at 2:10 a.m. April 25, 2010, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born April 28, 1930, to John and Mary Baytosh Komara. On July 5, 1955, she married John Richard R. Neill, who is deceased.
Surviving are two sons, John W. (Eileen) Neill, Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Samuel M. Neill, Annapolis, Md.; a brother, Virgil Komara, Huntington Beach, Calif.; and a grandson.
Deceased are two sisters, Margaret Massey and Genevieve Kaercher; and four brothers, Jack Kent, John, Robert, and David Komara.
She was a school teacher and received her bachelor's degree from Wright State University in Dayton. She taught at Immaculate Conception High School and elementary school, Celina, and Franklin Elementary School, Montezuma. She also taught fourth-grade at Celina East Elementary School until she retired in 1993. She also was a volunteer teacher and tutored after retiring. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the St. John Lutheran Church sewing circle ladies.
Services are 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial is at Crowes Cemetery in Ottawa.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County or the Joint Township District Hospital Foundation in St. Marys.
