CELINA - City Auditor Emily Stewart said she doesn't know what's going to happen when the city attempts to renew $3.59 million in bond principal for various projects this fall.
If the city defaults on its borrowings, the state could initiate fiscal watch and supervise much of the city's financial transactions, Stewart said. [More]

ROCKFORD - Parkway school district voters will see a 1-percent income tax renewal levy on the ballot May 4.
It marks the third renewal of this levy, which has generated about $900,000 for day-to-day operations of the district.
St. Marys
A $10 million civil case against the St. Marys Police Department filed in late June by a Rockford father and daughter has been dismissed in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
